Operation Brahma: India’s Humanitarian Response to Myanmar’s Earthquake Crisis
India Responds Swiftly to Myanmar’s Earthquake Emergency
Following a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand, India launched Operation Brahma, a comprehensive humanitarian relief mission targeting the worst-hit regions including Mandalay, Sagaing, Nay Pyi Taw, Shan, and Bago.
India’s response included:
40 tonnes of aid delivered by INS Satpura and INS Savitri
Deployment of INS Karmuk and LCU 52 for HADR operations
IAF’s C-130J aircraft carrying emergency supplies
A 118-member medical task force and 80-member NDRF team
