Air Marshal Anil Khosla, PVSM, AVSM, VM (Retd.)
Air Marshal Anil Khosla is a distinguished Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, having served as Vice Chief of Air Staff (VCAS) and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Eastern Air Command. Commissioned in December 1979 in the fighter stream, he has over 4,000 flying hours on MiG-21 and Jaguar aircraft, specializing in maritime operations. An ‘A2’ category flying instructor and fighter strike leader, he played a key role in Air Force War Plans and capability building. A Distinguished Fellow at USI and CAPS, he has contributed to research on air power, geopolitics, and security. He holds two M.Phil degrees in military studies and has served in key instructional roles. His commands include a Jaguar squadron, Jaisalmer and Ambala bases, and leadership positions at Air HQ. A prolific writer, he has shaped IAF strategy through research, strategic exercises, and defence policy contributions. His leadership and vision have left a lasting impact on India’s air power and national security.
