Emerging and Deep Technologies Programme
The Emerging and Deep Technologies Programme at CNSS is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research and policy engagement in technologies that are redefining global power structures and national security paradigms. The vertical’s primary objective is to contribute to India’s long-term technological sovereignty and national security preparedness by critically engaging with domains that are recognised as critical and emerging technologies (CETs).
Our thematic areas of focus include, but are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), quantum technologies, semiconductor technologies, advanced telecommunications (5G/6G), cyber security, clean and renewable energy technologies, robotics and autonomous systems, biotechnology, block chain, and space systems. These technologies are evaluated through the lenses of innovation, governance mechanisms, their dual-use potential, and geopolitical implications.
