Strategic Semiconductor Collaboration: ‘Shakti’ Fab Announced
India and the United States have unveiled plans to establish a pioneering semiconductor fabrication plant named ‘Shakti’, set to be located in Uttar Pradesh. This multi-material fab, among the first of its kind globally, will focus on national security, next-gen telecommunications, and green energy applications.
Specializes in infrared, gallium nitride, and silicon carbide semiconductors.
Targets advanced sensing, secure communications, and high-voltage power electronics—critical for modern warfare and strategic tech.
Developed through a partnership between Bharat Semiconductors, 3rdiTech, and the US Space Force.
Supported by the India Semiconductor Mission and the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) Fund.

The initiative aligns with broader India-US efforts to:
